eRFbeacon

The eRFbeacon is part of the eRFquake tracking solution.

It creates areas by broadcasting a beacon at regular intervals. Area behavior can be modified to adapt to customized scenarios, ranging from simple location information, to requesting a notification of trackers in range, or generating alarms when an eRFquake tracker is where it is not supposed to be.

The radius of the area generated by the beacon can extend from 2 meters to a kilometer.

Customizable settings include:

• Transmission power
• Transmission interval
• Customizable wake up periods to have the device active during specific hours on specific days, helping extend battery life.
• Area type: define the behavior sensors located in range should have when receiving a signal from the beacon.
• User data to be transmitted to sensors in range for customized behavior by third party applications.
• And more.

A small solar panel with a power booster can provide an alternate power source even in poor lighting conditions.

Exemples of uses:

Shopping carts equipped with an eRFquake tracker can report their arrival and departure to cart lots equipped with an eRFbeacon. The eRFbeacon sends information about the current location, and supplies an eRFrelay to which the arrival or departure notification should be made.

eRFbeacons can be placed close to the exits of a building's premises, and broadcast a forbidden area notification to nearby trackers. eRFquake trackers receiving such signal will start broadcast an alarm to the rest of the system, and will keep broadcasting until it is set to stop by the system, either by returning within the premises, or until it is recovered by following its signal.
