RFID - Radio Frequency Identification

Two types of RFID technologies are available on the market: passive and active.

Passive RFID consists of having "stickers" powered by the induction of current by the electromagnetic field created by the reader equipment interrogating the RFID tag within a close range that cannot exceed a couple of yards.

Active RFID allows full bidirectional communication and transfer of information stored on an autonomous sensor powered by a battery. Long distance is not an issue with a radio range tunable from 2 meters to 1 kilometer.
Nitrosoft solves the Active RFID concern about battery life duration by combining a low power system on chip running Wavenis technology with a built-in motion sensor. The result is a low power RFID device active only on motion detection and transitions of the mobile attached.

We focus on active RFID with hardware and software adapted to remote control and command through our fixed and mobile gateways with smart low power SoCs.

RTLS

The eRFquake sensor provides RTLS information.

Real time locating systems are used to track and identify the location of objects in real time using simple, inexpensive nodes (badges/tags) attached to or embedded in objects and devices (readers) that receive the wireless signals from these tags to determine their locations.

RF Sensor advantages

Of small size, our sensors integrate easily to many devices with no maintenance for up to 10 years based on frequency of sollicitations.

  • Long range: from 1 Km (1100 yards) in line of site at 25mW, up to 4 Km (4400 yards) at 500mW.
  • Relay feature: up to 3 relays can be used for hard to reach sensors up to 13 Km (14000 yards).
  • Remote management through the gateway and the Internet.
  • Sensor operating at 868 MHz in Europe, 915 in the United States, and 433 in Asia. Ultra Low Power.
  • I/Os manageable.
  • Motion detection.
  • Machine to machine communication.
  • Sensors with probes from the Coronis Systems product line: measure power, temperature, 0-5V, 4-20mA, tank levels.
  • Sensors with probes from the TMI Orion line of product for remote metering in hostile environment: measure temperature, humidity, physical distortions, wind speed, packaging distortions, and weight.
